A new take on an old classic. These homemade Oreo's are so yummy. Good luck keeping little hands away from them.
Who doesn't love a good ole' Oreo cookie? Try this classic with a twist by making your own. You'll need a devils food cake mix, 1/3 c. oil and 2 eggs.
Mix the cake mix, eggs and oil until a thick dough forms. Roll the dough into 1- 1 1/2 inch balls. Place them on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper.
Press the dough down slightly using your fingers or the back of a spatula. Bake at 350 degrees for 7-9 minutes.
Cool them for about 3 minutes on the cookie sheet and then move them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
For the cream cheese frosting, mix 4 oz cream cheese (room temp) until smooth. Add in 1/2 stick butter (softened) and mix until creamy. Mix in 1 c. powdered sugar and 1 tsp. vanilla.
Once the frosting is a creamy consistency, frost the bottom of one cookie and then place another cookie on top making a sandwich.
These homemade Oreo's are so yummy and so easy to make. I may have ate 2 of them for breakfast. Shhh...that's our little secret.
