Hello February! This is a very busy month for us. We have our 26th wedding anniversary, my oldest son, Tristan’s birthday, Valentine’s Day, the 4 year anniversary of my brother’s passing as well as my baby sisters birthday who also earned her wings the same day. She would have turned 42 this month. So many happy and not so happy milestones. But celebrated milestones nevertheless. I recently put together a fun Tea Party tablescape for some Valentine’s Day inspo. I kept the tea cups and saucers from the other tablescape but added a cake stand with a faux apple pie, made by my sweet friend Dawn. She makes the most incredible fakery items. Doesn’t that pie look good enough to eat? If only I was a baker. But I’m not so it’s fun to have a faux pie to decorate with and fool people into thinking that I am. She also makes beautiful faux cakes that I love decorating with as well. How do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? Do you go out to a nice restaurant or do you prefer a quiet evening at home? I’m definitely more of a quiet night at home spent with my family. When my kids were little we always did pizza night with a heart shaped pizza and sparkling grape juice. They loved it and always looked forward to it. The last few years though we’ve done tomato soup with heart shaped grilled cheese sandwiches. And for me it just makes it feels so much more special with a beautifully styled table.

I found the cute little X’s and O’s vase filler at Target. I’m actually not big on decorating for Valentine’s Day but I thought they were super cute and I love that they’re neutral. You don’t have to go all pinks and reds to achieve a cute Valentine’s Day look. But I do love the subtle pink hues the tea cups add to this space.
