Hey friends! Can you believe Christmas is next weekend? This season just flew by. And if you’re anything like me this next week will be crunch time. Wrapping, baking, cleaning and all the things. I’m not complaining though. I love this time of year so much. The smells, the treats, the family gatherings and all of the coziness this season brings. And if you know me I’m all about cozy. And Christmas is the perfect time to make your home feel warm, cozy and inviting. Of course the obvious way to do this is twinkle lights. From the glow of a Christmas tree to garland with twinkling lights hanging above your fireplace. But there are other ways to add that cozy factor. Blankets, throw pillows and candles are the perfect way to make any room feel warm and cozy.

I’m a neutral decor loving person and decorating with color intimidates me. But I actually really love a neutral Christmas. The woods and creamy whites I have throughout my house go perfectly with the golds and rich Christmas greens. I decorated my tree with gold and champagne balls, clear glass ornaments filled with book pages, twine balls, mango wood snowflakes, floating candles and rustic stars.

I used the pegs already on my wall to hang our stockings and added my favorite Norfolk pine garland from http://www.afloral.com. This garland is seriously so pretty and looks and feels incredibly real. I also have a couple of Norfolk pine wreaths as well. These items do sell out very quickly at Afloral so I’d recommend shopping early next year so you’ll have them for next Christmas. They also transition well into the winter months. I also added paper bag snowflakes. These are such an easy and fun DIY. Check out this tutorial https://simplyminedesigns.blog/web-stories/diy-paper-bag-snowflakes/

I love the brown snowflakes in my living room but I decided to add white ones in my kitchen. I hung them from my ladder in my dining area using push pins. The deer, white tree, cake stand and vase on the table are all from Target. Of course! It’s one of my very favorite stores to shop at. Fun fact…Did you know I worked at Target for 4 years? It’s true. I worked in the fitting room and was also the stores telephone operator. “Thank you for calling Target. This is Shanna. How may I direct your call?” I’ve still got it. Haha.

I kept my Christmas decor in my kitchen pretty minimal. Sometimes less is more. Don’t you think? With my open shelving my kitchen can look busy with too much added stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I love my open shelving and still think it was one of the best decisions I made when remodeling our kitchen. But with open shelving concept you need to be careful not to overcrowd them. It’s another reason I think neutral Christmas decor works well in here. It doesn’t look too crowded. Everything looks like it belongs and the room flows nicely.

I recently switched out the hanging chair I had in this corner of my living room for this chair from Yodolla. This chair is so cool. The bottom pulls out and becomes an ottoman and the back lays down turning the chair into a bed. Check it out here https://amzn.to/3F6fxXj I went with the saddle brown color and I think it really adds a cozy warmth to this room. Plus it has side pockets for remotes, books, etc. and it has a cup holder. Perfect for a cozy reading nook. And I love how it looks with my Christmas decor.

There really is nothing better than movie nights when it snowing outside and cozy and warm inside. Especially with a fire going. We don’t have a real fireplace but you can still achieve that warm glow from a fire with an electric fireplace. We love ours and when it’s on it instantly just makes the room feel cozier. We got our insert from Touchstone Home Products and we built the fireplace surround to house it. There are so many affordable options when it comes to electric fireplaces that make it easy to achieve the perfect setting for a cozy evening in front of the fire. Are you ready to get your home holiday cozy? I hope you’ve found some useful ideas and tips to help. As always, thanks for stopping by. Happy Holidays!!
