Hey sweet friends! Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week? It’s truly one of my favorite holidays. Not only do we get to gather with our loved ones and count our blessings, it is also the kick off to my favorite season…Christmas. I don’t overlook Thanksgiving, I think the two holidays coincide. They both represent a time of thankfulness and gathering with loved ones. I decorate early for the holidays and so I wanted to incorporate some of my Christmas decor into our Thanksgiving decor. While still creating a table setting that represented thankfulness and gratitude. I’m hosting a small gathering this year so I wanted it to feel cozy and intimate.

When I was younger, Thanksgiving was always spent at my grandma’s house. Surrounded by aunts, uncles and cousins. There was so much noise and chaos. But it was something I looked forward to every year. The last Thanksgiving spent there was in 2003. My grandpa had just been diagnosed with colon cancer and was going in for surgery the next day. He couldn’t eat dinner with us and it was heartbreaking but he insisted that we do our annual Thanksgiving dinner anyway, even though we told him we could wait until he was feeling better. He died three months later and my grandma moved in with my parents. I miss those Thanksgivings so much. Over the years our gatherings have gotten smaller and smaller. But it’s still a holiday I look forward to every year. Whether it’s with a large group or small, I still have so much to be thankful for.

With our gathering this year being small I wanted to create a cozy, intimate setting. I decided on gold accents with warm wood tones and white dishes. I picked up the raffia turkey, small gold vase and plastic champagne glasses at Target. The garland is from Afloral and the dishes are from Tuxton Home. All of the candlesticks are vintage that I found on Mercari. The matte gold silverware is from Amazon https://amzn.to/3FATN5I

I love how this space came together and can’t wait for Thanksgiving. Afterall, who doesn’t love lot’s of good food and time spent with loved ones? I’ve got my stretchy pants ready!! How about you?

I am so thankful for all of you that come here looking for ideas and inspiration. I love sharing my passion for all things home with you. Have a wonderful weekend!
