It’s Spooky Season
Hello friends! I can’t believe it’s already October and time for things to get spooky. Do you decorate for Halloween? I love getting my house spooky for Halloween while still keeping with a neutral decor palette. Your Halloween decor doesn’t have to be over the top scary or tacky. It’s so fun to incorporate different elements and textures into your home for this fun holiday. Of course I truly believe you need skeletons, lots of skeletons. They’re neutral, fun to pose around the house and are just the right amount of scary. We love bringing out our big skeleton every year. You never know what kind of shenanigans Mr. Skellington is going to get into. Today he’s chilling out in my hanging chair.

I think my favorite thing I added to this years Halloween decor are my hanging “Harry Potter” candles. I hung them in front of my window in my living room. I used fishing line and tied it around the flame. The candles are from Amazon and they come with a remote so it’s uper easy to turn them on and off. I love how they look at night.

I added tea lights to my little cubby with some spanish moss and spiders. My namaste skeleton is from Michaels, the tree is from Nearly Natural Floral, lamp is from Target and the cubby and console table are from Decor Steals.
I found a printable on Pinterest for the book covers and just covered some old books I had laying around. For my other console table I added bats from Grandin Road and a sign from Krumpets Home Decor and of course another skeleton.
When my youngest son was little, Halloween was his favorite holiday. He’s 18 now but I used to love how excited he would get about scary decorations and dressing up. He took picking out his costume to a whole other level. And now I get to watch my niece and nephew show that same enthusiasm for Halloween. And I got my house all spooky just in time for them to come for a sleepover this week. One of our favorite things to do with them is movie night. I’m thinking we’ll watch Hocus Pocus. And there will be popcorn and candy corn. It’s the perfect salty and sweet snack. Thanks for stopping by my blog today. I hope you found it inspiring. Happy Haunting!
