How I Clean My Copper Sink

When we started remodeling our kitchen and gathering ideas and inspiration, our sink was the one thing I was sure about. I knew early on in the planning stage that I wanted an undermount copper sink with a single basin. My husband, though, wasn’t so sure about it and tried to talk me out of it. His main concern was how we were going to keep it clean and looking new. I’m sure most of you are aware that Copper has a living finish that changes and evolves with how you use it.This living finish is called the patina, it’s a natural protective coating that ensures copper won’t corrode. It’s a beautiful, natural process that can create very unique and pretty color changes. But it can also make your copper sink look dull and dirty.

I wipe my sink out everyday with a non-abrasive sponge using only dish soap. But when I do decide to bring back it’s natural shine, I use Wright’s Copper Cream Cleaner https://amzn.to/3eSNcbY This stuff is amazing. It literally brings back the shine with one wipe. My husband couldn’t believe it the first time he saw these results. Also, our sink has grown on him and he loves it just as much as I do now. It has been a beautiful addition to our kitchen.

I love decorating with warm woods and creamy whites. The copper just ties everything together so perfectly. Especially with my cream colored quartz countertops. A match made in Heaven? Perhaps. Or just brilliant planning on my part? LOL. Would you like to see a blog post on my Quartz countertops? What questions do you have about them or about my copper sink? I’d love to answer any questions you may have.

I know copper isn’t for everyone. I also know my kitchen isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. But if you’ve been on the fence about a copper sink, I hope this post helps. The thing that makes us all unique and different is the thing that makes our world so beautiful. I hope you all have an amazing new week.
