Small Entryway Update
We don’t have an entryway by our backdoor, but it’s still an area in my home that I like to style and make functional. When it’s not filled with purses, jackets, and all the other things that get dropped there, it actually looks like a cute little entryway. And an entryway isn’t complete without a few basic items. First you need hooks of some kind for backpacks, jackets, purses, etc. And then you need a mirror. You know, to check yourself one last time before you leave the house. And my other favorite go to…a basket. We have a large basket in this space for shoes. But you could also use a shoe rack. I have a pretty strict rule about no shoes in the house so it’s super convenient to have a dedicated place to drop them just inside the door. We also have small hooks by the door for keys. Everything you need before leaving the house in one dedicated space. No “entryway” necessary.

Fun fact: The shiplap on this wall is painted on. I used a Sharpie paint pen and a level to do it. It was so easy and from a distance, you can’t even tell it was painted on. If you know me, you know I love shelves. I have them all over my house. So of course I needed them here too. These shelves are from Target. I used to have these ones in my bathroom but just got a new one in there which worked out perfectly because I love these ones here. The little sign and the wooden “book” bundle are in my shop. The link is on My Home Page.

You don’t need a large entryway/mudroom to make a big impact. Although they would be nice to have. A girl can dream, am I right? For now though, this little area does the job. There’s a place for everything and everything is in it’s place. Keeping my home organized, tidy and clutter free. Most of the time.
